Days of Operating
Jesse’s Stump Home Forge in Spotswood, Melbourne, is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the school terms, with 2 or 3 workshop sessions to choose from each day. Please note that workshops are usually a shared time with others and, as bookings vary, you may be working alongside different people of different ages during your session. There are a variety of blacksmithing and bush furniture projects to explore.
In addition to our Home Forge, we offer large group Mobile Workshops with our portable (electricity-free) setup of anvils/workstations and forges. We frequently deliver large group workshops at schools, scout groups, community centres and other places around Melbourne and Greater Melbourne with this setup. We can also be booked for workshops and demonstrations during the school holidays in Country Victoria or interstate, using our portable setup.
Our Studio Terms
Facilitating a respectful, wholesome and warm environment is central to our creative approach and culture. We run a studio which has zero tolerance for offensive language or behaviour. Please be aware that participants will be asked to leave a session early if they cross these terms and there will be no refund.
Cancellation Policy
A 24-hour cancellation policy applies to all bookings. With individual bookings, it is preferred that participants pay before the session and this fee is non-refundable, however participants can reschedule if cancellation occurs with more than 24 hours notice. For large group bookings, a deposit of 50% must be paid in advance to secure the booking. If cancellation occurs with less than 24 hours notice, the 50% deposit will be non-refundable.
Our Workshop Rates *
2 hr workshop casual: $100 full fare/$80 concession (Health Care Card only)
3 hr workshop casual: $140 full fare/$110 concession (Health Care Card only)
2 hr workshop/SET of 6 $550 full fare/$430 concession (Health Care Card only) * This may suit Mentoring, Homeschoolers, and ongoing NDIS clients
3 hr workshop/SET of 6 $780 full fare/$600 concession (Health Care Card only) * This may suit Mentoring, Homeschoolers, and ongoing NDIS clients
Please note: Our rates may differ slightly when a workshop is being offered in partnership with an external organisation.
Large Group Workshops - Mobile Workshops Only
We regularly deliver large group workshops using a portable set up. For groups larger than 13, a tailored booking price can be arranged, lowering the cost per head, depending on variables such as group size. In general, participants of larger groups work in pairs and a 3 hr workshop is required. Please note that Travel Expenses will be part of any mobile workshop booking if the location is more than 20km from our Home Forge in Spotswood. There is also a flat rate of $120 for the 4 hours of setup and pack-up involved in running our mobile workshops.

Blacksmithing Demonstration $250 (1 hr only - A price for additional hours can be negotiated with Rob) plus Setup & Pack-up Flate Rate of $60
Blacksmithing Demonstration with Taster $350 (2 hr) plus Setup & Pack-up Flate Rate of $60
